We first heard Tall Poppy at The Clifftop Old-time festival in West Virginia and were immediately impressed by their dynamic performances and incredible musicianship. They are steeped in the tradition of old-time but unquestioningly bring a fresh and new approach. All 3 members are well known for their virtuosity on their instruments. Cameron is one of the most innovative clawhammer banjoists on the scene, George is a sought-out fiddler in the old-time and Bluegrass world and recently won a prestigious Momentum award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). Morgan brings a very new approach to the guitar in old-time music.
